At UNC Wilmington, with the ocean breeze in the air and the trees lining Chancellor’s Walk, it feels even more special. It’s the place where you grew, learned, found your people, and pushed through the hard stuff. And for seniors like Avery, it’s where a whole chapter of life unfolded.
I recently had the absolute joy of photographing Avery’s graduation portraits at UNCW.
She’s a cyber security major (how cool is that?!) and wanted her session to really reflect her time on campus.
We wandered through the places that meant the most to her—around the landmarks she passed every day, in front of the building where she spent countless hours studying, and under the trees that offered shade during those long walks to class.
Avery didn’t just want a few quick snaps in her cap and gown—she wanted to mark this season of her life with intention. And that’s exactly what graduation portraits are about.
This moment—after all the exams, the late nights, the group projects and coffee runs—deserves to be documented in a way that feels personal and empowering.
