Warm Moments and Hot Cocoa: A Winter Mini Session to Remember
One of my favorite things about being a photographer for moms is getting to create sweet, meaningful memories that celebrate the beautiful connection between a mother and her children.
This past winter, I hosted cozy hot chocolate sessions for my Family Photography Program, and let me tell you—it was pure magic.
Wrapped in warm blankets, giggling over marshmallows, and sipping cocoa with rosy cheeks, these sessions were all about togetherness.
The setup was simple but charming: a cute little cocoa set up, fluffy pillow and a blanket for accents, and just enough wintery magic to make it feel special without freezing anyone’s toes off (because let’s be real—North Carolina winters are mild, and we love that).
But what really made this session special? The moms who showed up.
So many of them admitted they usually stay behind the camera, capturing moments for everyone else.
But this time, they stepped in. They snuggled their little ones, shared cocoa and laughs, and let me document it all.
As a photographer for moms, I’m passionate about encouraging women—especially mothers—to exist in photos.
Not just for themselves, but for their kids.
Your children won’t remember if your hair was perfect or if you hadn’t lost those “last 5 pounds.”
What they will remember is how safe, loved, and happy they felt wrapped up in your arms.
These hot chocolate sessions were a beautiful reminder of that. Moments don’t need to be extravagant to be meaningful.
All it takes is a mug of cocoa, a snuggly blanket, and the people you love most.
