Words can not even explain how I am feeling right now. My baby girl, who is not so baby anymore, started her first day of preschool today. As I walked her to her classroom, I was trying to hold back the tears. And as I ushered her through the door, my mind flashed through all the memories we had this summer. Wow! What a summer we had! It was one of my favorites ever. And even though we didn’t go on a vacation (but a stay-cation), it was still a fun and packed summer. Jungle Rapids Water Park, the aquarium, the beach more times then I can count and countless evening spent in the back yard, during and after dinner. One of my favorite things with Olivia, was her 3 year old portraits. I dropped the ball in February, when she actually turned 3. By the time May came around, I decided I wanted to wait until blueberry picking was happening. I planned the session, all the way down to her yellow dress (her favorite color.) We spent a summer evening walking around several fields, picking flowers and blueberries. And of course, eating the blueberries. I loved watching Olivia’s eyes get wide as she found a blueberry that was ready to by picked. Watching her face as she popped one into her mouth is a moment I will never forget. And the memories I captured during this session will stay with me until Olivia has the same experience with her own daughter.
