Twins Cake Smash

As a Family Photographer I encourage mamas to get in their kids portraits. I hear all too often from mothers that they do not want to be in their kids portraits. I’ve hear it all…

-“I want to lose 10 pounds first.”

-“I’m not photogenic.”

-” I just want pictures of my kids.”

The twins birthday portraits was a little different for obvious reasons but more than that, this session was a specialty session just for a mama in my Mommy Photography Program. (The mommy program focuses and encourages busy mamas to be in their family portraits with their kiddos.) Brittany is in my MPP this year and we added this specialty session to her program. Her twins turned one last month and we wanted to commemorate their birthday with a cake smash. Brittany displayed these images at their birthday party. <3

On the day of their session I ran out and grabbed balloons and when mom and dad arrived to my small home studio they got Grayson and Peyton ready. Aren’t their crowns adorable? I had mom and dad set them down at the same time because I was worried that they would destroy that cake in 5 seconds flat. I was wrong! lol! Each of them slowly took bites and gradually started sticking their toes in the cake. <3 Peyton loved her cake way more than Greyson did. Greyson was more interested in moving around as you can see in the images.

We ended their session with a bubble bath session. I always do this for cake smash sessions, I think its a cute addition. <3 I completely forgot to account for TWO babies in the bath tub and over filled it. Whoops! Water sloshed every where but I love the affect it gave off on the floor. At one point Greyson decided he was done and started to cry, but mom and my assistant blew bubbles and we were able to capture some really great images with bubbles. Check out all the cuteness below.
