Kaitlynn’s Senior Portrait Session
Kaitlynn took my breath away. She is a natural in front of the camera. For her Senior Portraits, she wanted something different. Something no one else does. She pick Carolina Beach State Parkfor her senior session and then we headed to downtown Wilmington for more Urban-like photos. Wow! The contrast of the grasses and forest at the state park vs the concrete and brick surfaces downtown just work perfectly!
First we started in the walking trails at Carolina Beach State Park. They are covered with the beautiful tall grass and weathered, wooden boardwalks leading through the paths and tall pine trees. The sunlight melting through the trees gave it such a magical look that it shine through in the photos. Along the way we talked about Kaitlynn visiting the college she got into. She got into The University of North Carolina! Woot, woot! Go Kaitlynn! They just got back from a trip to see the campus and Kaitlin absolutely loved it. She was so excited to visit the school that was her first choice.
We talked about Disney since we both have recently been there. The things we talked about the most was the different places to eat in the different rides that we loved at Disney. We must have talked about for at least an hour. Haha! After we finished in the walking trails, secondly, we headed over to the intercoastal waterway and grabbed some images with the water, beach and boats. We only stayed in this location for a short while. We were eager to get downtown before we lost light.
Getting “lost” in downtown Wilmington.
When we met downtown we decided to meet at a parking deck because we knew we wanted to finish the session on the top of the parking deck. We were hoping for a killer sunset. I made a mistake with which parking deck and ended up in the wrong spot. A simple text solved the problem and we found each other. We walked around downtown finding cool, funky alleyways and historic buildings. The buildings and variety of backdrops it provides always makes it one of my favorite locations. And we got what we wished for… a stunning sunset! Lastly, we finished the session at the top of the parking deck. Kaitlynn rocked her session.
