When booking a family portrait session…
Many decisions need to be taken into consideration, the most important one being how to choose the location for the family session. Knowing what feel you want to achieve in the family portraits is one of the driving factors in selecting the ideal spot. For example, you can choose a place that carries a special meaning for you or an activity that you enjoy together. To shed light on some of the crucial things when it comes to preparing for your upcoming session, I will share my experience photographing a lovely family.
Tricia and Joe are a gorgeous couple whom I had an opportunity to photograph for the first time last year when their daughter Alison was born. The family lives on an out-of-commission golf course. It’s their happy place. The place where they love going for walks and spending quality time together. Tricia is a really beautiful woman, both inside and out, and someone who values photographs. She understands well that her babies will remain little for a short time and was keen on capturing special moments with them. Presently, she is working part-time, so she can be at home and spend time with her kids while they are young. Given that her husband, Joe, works from home as well, I think the couple is lucky enough to enjoy spending quality time with them.
As always, I arrived early, and we walked straight to the front porch. We wanted to start there but the sun was still a little too high in the sky. So we headed to their favorite walking trail around their neighborhood. Tricia really wanted a location that was special for their family. Since they’re home together so much one of their favorite family activities is to use the out-of-commission golf course as their waking trails. With their loving and snuggly nature to be with one another and the meaningful location Tricia LOVED the family portraits.
Check out Tricia’s Mommy and Me session with Weston when she was pregnant with Alison here. It was a really special session for them as Weston was going to be a big brother and no longer an only child. <3
