What is better than a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day?
The latest Mommy Photography Program event was a lemonade stand at the New Hanover County Arboretum. This location is one of my favorites, the gardens are stunning. Four families came to the lemonade stand portrait session in the blistering heat, but we all made it through! This time, we just took photos of the kiddos. This is one of the rare occasions that I take portraits of just the kids because the Mommy Photography Program tends to focus on mom.
With my Mommy Photography Program, I like to empower women through photography. From such a young age we are prone to looking at photoshopped models and we tend to start comparing ourselves to such unrealistic body goals. But, through my portrait sessions in the program, I give the power and body positivity back to mothers. My mission is to allow women to see their inner and outer beauty.
Although I typically focus on the moms, it was sweet to get photographs of the kids, especially at a lemonade stand. They all did super well considering how hot it was that day. By the end I was sweating and probably on the verge of dehydration. Haha! But the kids had fun! They got to enjoy some lemonade at the end of their session and mom got summer portraits of her kiddos.
