Emma’s Senior Photo Session at Fort Fisher

I met Emma, her mother and grandmother at Fort Fisher one warm evening a few weeks ago for her senior portrait session.

Before the session mom and I chatted about the kinds of portraits she would like. And she mentioned she’d like a few images of Emma, Mom and Grandma together. I love that mom and grandma wanted to jump in for a few portraits. Your child’s senior year is a special one. They are leaving the nest (or at least close to it.) After this time, they start spending less and less time at home and before you know it, they’re only around for holidays. That’s why capturing family portraits this year is so important.

So, we started at the iconic oak trees and grabbed a few images of them together and then each of them with Emma, since she’s the graduate. <3 After that, Emma changed and we had some fun!

Emma is very energetically and bubbly. She has a gorgeous smile that lights up her whole face. She was very enthusiastic and made suggestions on locations for different portrait ideas and came up with her own poses too.

During her session we chatted about school and what she’s going to do after school. She has decided to take a gap year so hopefully COVID will fizzle and she’ll get to enjoy the full college experience. After all its been a rough year for seniors and now to throw COVID into their college experience too, that’s rough!
