Michelle‘s couple Boudoir Session at North Topsail Beach.
When Michelle contacted me she was really excited about doing a couples boudoir session but she really struggles with body positivity. She asked me if I would photoshop the wrinkles or folds in her skin. I told her I would not do those things because I encourage women to see the things they hate the most about themselves in a more positive light. I use photography as a way to empower women to love themselves instead of hate on themselves. She hesitated and said she would get back with me.
A week later I got the text from her, saying she would like to move forward. I am sooo unbelievably proud of Michelle. She was really scared and could have moved on to a photographer who said they would retouch her. But she decided to embrace herself and the things she dislikes about her body. So we booked her session one gorgeous evening at North Topsail Beach, in the most remote location I could find.
The day of the session
Michelle was really nervous at first but as I started posing them, she started to relax. We started with simple poses looking into the camera and looking at each other and they got a little bit more racy and fun as time went on. Her husband Brandon was a good sport. Anything Michelle wanted… he did. He had tattoos on his chest and sleeves that Michelle really wanted to showcase.
We finished with Michelle and Brandon getting in the water. They got soaked by the waves but had a lot of fun. The way Brandon looked at Michelle was so sweet, you could tell he was madly in love with her. There were a few poses that were a little more difficult and I asked Brandon if that would be OK and he said that it was no problem because he wanted to do it for Michelle.<3
