The Foster’s Family Session
One hot and humid evening, (gotta love a North Carolina summer 🙂 ) I met Heather and Jason, along with sweet little Cameron at Hugh Macrea Park, now Long Leaf Park. 🙂 Heather and I chatted back in February about her family session but Cameron got sick and then COVID, kept pushing her family session back. We were finally able to get together for their family portraits in June.
Heather and Jason were such a pleasure to work with. They laughed together, played and tickled Cameron, held hands and just let Cameron run. Let’s be honest that what all 1 year olds want to do anyway! It took a few minutes for Cameron to warm up to me, but when she did she was unstoppable. She would run and smile and just had fun with her parents. This is the way family portraits should be. When Heather and Jason look back at these images, that’s what they will remember. They will remember Cameron’s sweet little face and the way she laughed and snuggled when she was tickled. They will remember how she didn’t want to be held, the joy and wonder she found in every day things, like a flower or the grass.
It’s the the quality time and the little things in life that matter the most. Spending time with and enjoying your kiddos shows them they are the most important things in this life. Photography has a way of capturing, nurturing and protecting those little things with a sense of nostalgia over a lifetime. <3
